Luis Martinez joined The Innova Group in 2014 as a healthcare facility planner. His multi-disciplinary endeavors have led him to pursue environments and communities that exist at the intersection of different disciplines. Luis’ curiosity for learning drives him to seek out evidence-based solutions for complex problems that are backed by data analytics yet told in a manner that blends elements of storytelling to make a compelling narrative for different stakeholder groups.
Luis previously served as an administrative resident at The Johns Hopkins Hospital with the Department of Surgery, where he was able to observe and practice administration while leveraging his biomedical sciences training to understand the medical terminology and procedures. This role also included translating administrative decisions into built environment solutions through an array of construction projects that ranged from coordinating clinical inpatient unit transitions to renovating patient floors.
Luis’ past experience led him to transition into his current role as a senior planning consultant at The Innova Group in which he has the opportunity to help different healthcare clients through master planning efforts and long-term facility strategies. His current role has enabled him to develop and utilize data analytics to leverage design and business experiences to define appropriate facility recommendations.
